A Textbook Case of Intolerance
Changing the world one schoolbook at a time.
By Anne Applebaum
Because they are so clearly designed for the convenience of large testing companies, I had always assumed that multiple-choice tests, the bane of any fourth grader's existence, were a quintessentially American phenomenon. But apparently I was wrong. According to a report put out by the Hudson Institute's Center for Religious Freedom last week, it seems that Saudi Arabians find them useful, too. Here, for example, is a multiple-choice question that appears in a recent edition of a Saudi fourth-grade textbook, Monotheism and Jurisprudence, in a section that attempts to teach children to distinguish "true" from "false" belief in god:
Q. Is belief true in the following instances:
a) A man prays but hates those who are virtuous.
b) A man professes that there is no deity other than God but loves the unbelievers.
c) A man worships God alone, loves the believers, and hates the unbelievers.
The correct answer, of course, is c). According to the Wahhabi imams who wrote this textbook, it isn't enough just to worship god or just to love other believers—it is important to hate unbelievers as well. By the same token, b) is also wrong. Even a man who worships god cannot be said to have "true belief" if he loves unbelievers.

Wahabism is mainly practiced in Saudi Arabia (think 9/11) and being pushed world wide. They have funded many "religious" schools here. This text book is probably in the schools here. There were several articles about a madrass in Virginia. It is not enough to hate the infidel, you have to convert them or kill them.

Heh, we watched this when I was learning Arabic. Eventually in the show, the mouse, Farfour, is martyred by Isrealis (yeah) and then is replaced by his cousin, a bee named Nahoul.
2Sam- I've not read about the school in Virginia, so excuse the assumptions I'm about to make. =)
3Madras just means "school," I only say that because a lot of people, not talking about you, seem to think Madras is some code for terrorist training camp, but it's not. It's just the Arabic word for school.
Also, I'm not suspicious of Madrasas in America at all, because I'd assume that they're being monitored a little closer than your average school! I know it's off topic, but I was very upset by the public outcry against the Kahlil Gibran International Academy in New York. I think caution sometimes goes overboard.
This is horrible. Meanwhile, millions of Americans are screaming that we are ones who are preaching hatred and intolerance. Why have we not bombed the towers that broadcast this filth?
4Foxie they said the Israelis murdered him after Disney threatened to sue. Nice way NOT to influence Hate
5Madrass does mean school but it is specific to muslim schools. The one in VA has text books that say infidels are bad etc......
The NYC issue was due to the principal wearing and selling t-shirts that said intifada. Also we have no other specific religious schools with public funding dedicated to other groups. This one was seen as pandering and appeasement.

That was just one of the issues with the KGIA school, but I remember plenty of people who were just plain scared to have a school teaching Arabic to their kids.
6Why would they make Farfour look like dirty, American Mickey anyways? Tards.
** Not THEIR kids, rather to kids in general. My bad.
7Wow.

8Amazing.
It's funny you say that Sam - 'cause I was just thinking, "Disney will sooo sue."
MM is a world icon for kids- if he says hate Christians and Jews they do. They are kids and easily influenced. Then they said thier beloved little mouse was beaten to death by the Israelis. They are so into promoting peace & love
The school was even more then that- it was pandering to one segment. We have more chinese and spanish speaking kids it would have been better to open a school for those instead. It was also they were going to do culture and Koran - for that send them to your own religious school not a public one. The language can be offered like all the rest in the main system you do not need a "special" school for it.
They were also taking space from a public school and that is hard to come by - space that is.

Samantha and foxie, thanks for the info. This is some scary shizzle! I can't believe they get away with this child abuse. I have to pray harder for these poor babies. And we thought Joe the Camel was suspect!
Love your quote, samantha-
AND THANK YOU, UNDAVE- that's exactly my feelings on this!
"If the lion lies down with the lamb, the lamb must be replaced frequently." --Attributed to Martin Luther In the immediate aftermath of the terrorist violence of September 11, 2001.
10okay people 1st this is not a Saudi channel its a channel made by Hamas and you all know how extreme they are but because they broadcast these things that doesn't mean that all Muslim approve and because I'm a Muslim that doesn't mean i approve of terrorism and killing innocent people and saying that is Islam.
11i actually never watch Arabic kids show but i was shocked to here this things they were saying but they didn't talk about Christianity here they were talking about Israel mostly in Arabic in middle east in general they prefer to Jews as Israel and the TV channel is Hamas's channel so what do you expect to hear but just to make it clear we Muslims don't teach kids to kill or to hate people and no because some one is a killer that means his entire family are killers
