Obama is going to cancel Hannity 's and Rush Limbaugh's radio talk shows, because they disagree with the Democratic party.
He is seeking to take away Free Speech over the Radio Waves.
Are you surprised? Do you think the DEM'S will be censored too, or just us Conservative's??

1Did we pass an amendment granting the President the power to "veto" TV shows? Does it go the other way, can he "pardon" Lipstick Jungle? I was just starting to get into it.
(Outrageous claim...no source...lemme guess, email forward?)
2LOL! If they say that the DEM'S are in the wrong on Lipstick Jungle the show will be quietly cancelled LOL-Doesn't seem that impossible what with him cancelling big radio talk shows (after all, BO doesn't get mad, he walks softly-and carries a big stick. Ha ha!)

3great AVI!
"If the lion lies down with the lamb, the lamb must be replaced frequently." --Attributed to Martin Luther In the immediate aftermath of the terrorist violence of September 11, 2001.
4Lipstick Jungle is already cancelled.
And I'll believe this when I see it. The President's cancelling TV shows? Don't you think if that were even possible Bush would have axed Real Time with Bill Maher or Countdown with Keith Olbermann a long time ago?
5First off... for a post like yours; don't you think people would want to know where you got your information? Secondly... If that really is to happen, which I very much doubt, I a registered democrat who doesn't just vote for democrats would be very disappointed.
6I agree with Silver Snowflake.
7are you getting too carried away? This is against the first amendment
8I think she is talking about the Fairness Doctrine. It isn't an Obama thing, but a general Dem. thing that they have talked about doing for awhile. Google Fairness Doctrine and you can see what it is all about and how ironic a name that is.
9Ehhh. It's a pretty big leap from "generally, more Democrats favor the Fairness Doctrine" to "Obama is going to cancel Hannity 's and Rush Limbaugh's radio talk shows."
10This is only the beginning. I feel more and more rights are going to be taken away. I think he is a deceiver and everyone is going to be in for a surprise.
11Only the beginning of what? Of people making stuff up about Obama? That started aloooong time ago.
Seriously? You just believe that the President is going to cancel a tv show? That doesn't seem odd? You don't want to see an article or some kind of source?
12shopping42 I don't think this is even a possibility- he can't cancel a show-- where are you getting your info-???
13It is definitely not a possibility.
The President shall have the power to veto legislation, grant pardons, enter treaties, and...cancel TV shows he doesn't like?
14I knew this was going to happen. I listen to Michael Savage all the time and he has been talking about this for a long time. I am not surprised. It can't happen, though, without a lot more than just Obama's say so. Not that I am an Obama-fan, I don't believe he is the ringleader on this. I think it started with Diane Feinstein, for one. Nancy Pelosi is behind it also. Diane said the Fairness Doctrine, as she remember it, allowed for more correct speech? Will they censor NPR? What is wrong with different viewpoints, such as liberal and conservative? If they want to censor pornography, well that, in my opinion, would be wonderful. That doesn't seem to be a priority however. It is just getting the conservatives off the air??
15I agree that I don't think this is really going to happen. Where did you find the information?
16Michael Savage has been talking for a long time about people posting random, made up nonsense with no source and other people believing it?
17The Fairness Doctrine is a serious concern backed by some very prominent Democrats.
18No nonsense.
Google it for your self.

19I am sorry, but right now I have to ask myself how smart anyone is to believe something that there is no solid proof to? Has the world really not changed at all over time? Good grief people, get a grip! And perhaps some common sense while your at it...
20And I am and was not speaking of The Fairness Doctrine, just so anyone who is ready to think I was knows in advance.
21This is seriously ridiculous. I heard Rush b-tching about this the other day, and frankly, the only reason he's talking about this is because he never has anything real to complain about. I mean, when he isn't too busy making fun of Obama's children and Hillary Clinton.
Not to mention, I don't think anything in this doctrine would apply to individual shows, but broadcasters, so I don't even get how anyone would make that leap. This makes no sense, do people seriously think this is going to happen?
"In June 2008, Barack Obama's press secretary wrote that Senator Obama (Democrat of Illinois) "does not support reimposing the Fairness Doctrine on broadcasters," but that he "considers this debate to be a distraction from the conversation we should be having about opening up the airwaves and modern communications to as many diverse viewpoints as possible," adding, "That is why Sen. Obama supports media-ownership caps, network neutrality, public broadcasting, as well as increasing minority ownership of broadcasting and print outlets."
http://www.broadcastingcable.com/CA6573406.html
Other than Rush's mad rantings, where are we finding any indication that Obama wants to return to the doctrine? Geez Rush, you'll be free to sing "Barack the magic negro" for the rest of your life, and calling us feminists ugly women all you want. Breathe dude.
22Grr my comment was flagged! So I am going to post the quote without the link.
Basically, I agree with TrueSong. The only person I've heard talking about this is Rush Limbaugh, in between making fun of Barack's children and singing "Barack the magic negro." I think he is running out of material, and is not making stuff up.
From Wikipedia- the original source is cited there.
If anything, his policies would be aimed at networks and broadcasters, not individual shows, I don't get how anyone can believe he is going to cancel any shows.
23Regardless of the merits or pitfalls of the Fairness Doctrine, it has absolutely nothing to do with the absurd notion that Obama would, or would even have the power to, cancel anyone's show.
24Arch I just had two comments flagged, but I think I figured out why! Anyway, I think this is a huge stretch, and this is what Obama had to say about the fairness doctrine:
"In June 2008, Barack Obama's press secretary wrote that Senator Obama (Democrat of Illinois) "does not support reimposing the Fairness Doctrine on broadcasters," but that he "considers this debate to be a distraction from the conversation we should be having about opening up the airwaves and modern communications to as many diverse viewpoints as possible," adding, "That is why Sen. Obama supports media-ownership caps, network neutrality, public broadcasting, as well as increasing minority ownership of broadcasting and print outlets."
From Wikipedia- source cited there.
The only person I've heard even mention this is Rush Limbaugh, and he is seriously on another planet. Also, it sounds like Obama's policy would be aimed at broadcasters and networks, not at specific shows.
It seems to me like people are just trying to find any reason to be scared and angry right now, but isn't it time to move past that? I mean I listened to Limbaugh himself the other day, and he spent a good 20 minutes making fun of Obama's children.
25SOrry for the double post! I guess in the time it took me to re-write the whole thing, it got approved! Hopefully another one won't show up!
26Well I certainly wouldn't miss them, but seriously this won't happen. Even if Obama wanted to do this (which is a tad ridiculous) I think there are bigger fish to fry and more important issues to deal with then this.
27Exactly. Much bigger fish, like Lipstick Jungle! Was I the only one who liked that show? I really like Lindsey Price and Kim Raver, and I borderline worship Brook Shields.
28And jan, I just noticed your comment about my avatar. It's a photo I took on Saturday and the prop 8 protest rally in my city.
29What they took them both off the air? Lipstick Jungle and Cashmere Mafia? (I was so into Cashmere Mafia...)
30IDK, True- you never know, BO is up to some shady shhhh already. And if he's talking about censoring radio shows already, why not TV shows?
"If the lion lies down with the lamb, the lamb must be replaced frequently." --Attributed to Martin Luther In the immediate aftermath of the terrorist violence of September 11, 2001.
31Hmm. I never watched Cashmere Mafia. In all the pictures I saw on PopSugar and other sites, Lucy Liu was dressed like a crazy person.
It's so weird how Gossip Girl gets 3.4 million viewers on the CW and it's a HUGE hit, while Lipstick Jungle gets 3.3 million viewers on NBC and is considered a flop.
32Very true TS, but, she was a stylish crazy person.
And I do have to admit that her
eyes sometimes gave me the creeps, but, the show was sooo good. The American world is weird like that; I wonder if this is the only country that looses shows for no reason what so ever?
33Rush and Hannity are terrorists. They keep their listeners terrorized with rumors and falsehoods which their zombie followers repeat as gospel. I am more afraid of the people who quote those two than I am of Osama Bin Laden. They are certainly a closer threat. Why does noone who quotes them ever do any fact checking first? Are they so certain that these broadcasters are never wrong? Do the listeners not know that these broadcasters edit their soundbites to further their own agendas? Do the listeners really think they are getting the context as it was meant? If you are afraid, then Rush and Hannity will be pleased. That was their intention. That is always the intention of a terrorist.
34I reeeally hesitate to ask, but what "shady shhhhh"? And I still have not seen anything that even suggests in any legitimate way that he's talking about censoring radio shows, so I reject that premise until I do.
35All others-
1st, Don't come down on me like I don't read legitimate material because you haven't heard of Fairness Act. If you read more tham just Cosmo you would have heard about this already.
2nd,your not as funny, or smart, as you think you are. You two are always bashing other peoples posts- silversnowflake- and you, True- because they don't agree with you. Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it's not true.
3rd,BO will be taking over both the House and The Senate soon. There will be no more democracy for you, busters- so get ready to see what can happen.
4th, TRUE- I commented on your AVI and you could not bring yourself to say thank you, but you'll answer Jan no problem- why Jan and not me? Gee. I wonder. And you would probably turn purple insisting that your open-minded and a kind, friendly person.Oh the irony.
4th, this is not a post about the TV shows you like, True. You wanna hijack somebody else's post, please? This one is about censorship of conservatives by democrats. Thanks.

36lol my favorite was when Rush Limbaugh accused Michael J. Fox of "faking" his tremors from his parkinson's meds.
He's pretty twisted.. and always says the dumbest sh*t.
I too am interested in Obama's supposed shady business? Do tell.
37I mean jan as shorthand for justanerd. J.A.N.
38Justanerd... Wow... I. I'm at a complete loss for words. (Well almost.) I wonder if you are one of those people who hung out at McCain rally's and just never thought it would be a good idea to double check the statements from Palin and or McCain. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that the only people with issues in this election were McCain and Palin. Barack and Joe have their own mess and webs, all politicians do...
I really think you are trying to build a mountain out of a mole hill. But hey, that's just me.
39And beyond that, since I'm trying to waste time so I don't have to pack...
I didn't say you don't read legit sources, just that you haven't cited any here.
I haven't read Cosmo since I was a teenager.
I am exactly as funny and smart as I think I am.
Barack Obama will be serving as president. He has resigned his Senate seat and has never been in the House. I assume you mean the democrats.
We were talking about TV shows. If Obama can cancel Hannity, I hope he can offer a pardon to Lipstick Jungle. I really do.
40The Fairness Doctrine is a legitimate and serious issue. I can see how you would think the Obama connection is a stretch, and I do as well. But the issue itself is concerning.
41I don't like Rush or Hannity, but I find BO ri-donk-ulous.
BO is one shady mofo, and I can't wait to see how disallusioned ppl. are going to be when he gets busy carrying out all his plans for our country. 2 years can do a lot of damage- wonder if there will be 4 ?? Doubt it.... I wish I would be wrong, but I doubt I will be.
Ammendment rights? What do they mean when the house and senate are majority DEM? Where are his checks and balances when he pulls that off? There aren't any, are there? Who's going to stop him-you?
"If the lion lies down with the lamb, the lamb must be replaced frequently." --Attributed to Martin Luther In the immediate aftermath of the terrorist violence of September 11, 2001.
42Okay first off. I don't bash anyone's right to say whatever they want to say. I just let them know that I don't agree with them. Secondly. i have done a lot more on this network than just say stuff that has no REAL PROOF. SHOW me proof for your words and I will have something else to say about this.
43BO is the one saying that he is planning oncensoring these shows, so how can whatever political tv web what the heck ever source say he's against it?

45I don't know enough about the fairness doctrine to discuss it intelligently. It seems like a sort of good idea in theory that would be absolutely disastrous in practice.
But regardless, it's ridiculous and quite frankly irresponsible to post something like "Obama is going to cancel Hannity 's and Rush Limbaugh's radio talk shows, because they disagree with the Democratic party." without a shred of proof or even a bogus source.
46True, Gossip Girl gets most of its views online at the CW website or so I've read. Plus it is aired twice a week. 3.3 million is kind of a conservative number for its viewership.
Justa I don't think you have to worry about Rush or Haniity, despite the Fairness doctrine. It is my understanding that it applies primarily to news sources. Rush and Hannity aren't really news. They are more opinion or editorial. I think they fall in a loop hole.
Besides, I think in this time of economic and global turmoil, Obama and the dems in power, have bigger fish to fry. I don't think this has a place on their agenda.
47Justa where did Obama say that he was going to cancel these shows?
48that's good to know, True- thought you wouldn't bother to be friendly since we disgree. I notice a lot of people doing that lately. Anyways, I mean Barrak. He is President(soon to be taking office, anyways) and he is a DEM. He will fill spots in the House and Senate with more DEMS, so things won't be even. It should get interesting. True, BO SAID he was going to cancel Hannity and RL. Not a bogus source, as far as I know and, not a source of bogus news in the past. So, that's what I have to go on. That, and it seems like something he would do,since he has been Mr.'I only answer the questions I feel comfortable with'since before he ran.
snow, I don't have to make up stuff about BO to scare myself-he scares me with the reality of himself just fine.
"If the lion lies down with the lamb, the lamb must be replaced frequently." --Attributed to Martin Luther In the immediate aftermath of the terrorist violence of September 11, 2001.
49where's your proof that he won't?
The first source I read about this in, The Huffington Post, is a DEM-friendly publication that supports BO and is 'defending him' talking about this.... here are the first few paragraphs...
"Ask just about any public interest advocate concerned about the dismal state of media and journalism, and they will tell you that Obama's media policy platform is excellent: the beginning of what could be the most public interest friendly administration in presidential history. Part of this optimism stems from Obama's understanding that Internet and technology are the cornerstone of a 21st century economy and society. Another part comes from the competence and integrity of the media and telecom advisors working on his transition team. And another comes from his direct experience.
Obama-the-candidate commented several times that voters' false views of him -- that he's a Muslim, a socialist and unpatriotic -- were fed and spread by Fox News and their cohorts like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham in the far-right media. Obama understands that they are the special sauce in Karl Rove's toxic recipe to discredit progressive policies and politicians, and divide Americans with wedge issues.
And Obama understands that pushing back against guys like Limbaugh - who this week blamed the president-elect for the financial crisis, calling it "Obama's recession" - requires a bold policy agenda that uses the Internet to pry media distribution monopolies away from the largest media companies.............."
it goes on but, I won't cut and paste for you haters of cut and paste( who do it yourselves plenty, but whatever-)
