Subject: Fort Worth woman fondled by man posing as police officer
By DEANNA BOYD
FORT WORTH — Police are cautioning female motorists to be on alert after a 21-year-old woman reported that a man posing as an officer fondled her after pulling her over in southwest Fort Worth on Tuesday night.
The woman told police she was driving over the U.S. 183 bridge near the Interstate 20 split around 9:44 p.m. when she noticed a spotlight shining into her car. She believed that an officer was pulling her over. She told police the vehicle had blue strobe lights on its dash, according to a police report.
She described the man who approached her car as Hispanic and about 5 feet 8 inches with a black goatee. She said he wore what appeared to be a black uniform and a black baseball cap, and had a holstered gun.
The woman said he ordered her to place her hands on the hood, then grabbed her breasts and buttocks over her clothing.

I've heard that unless it is a marked police car, you can keep driving until you get to a well lit, populated location. Is that correct?
1These kind of stories scare me so much. So sick.
2Wonder if you could just drive to the nearest police station? I thought you could do that, too.
3I think you can. She is just lucky he kept it at fondling and didn't put her in his car or jump into hers. This could have been quite a bit worse.
4yeah, i've also heard that you can actually call the police and tell them that an unmarked car is trying to pull you over and give them the location and maybe the license plate and they'll check to see if it's legit
5That seems like the perfect thing to do. Thanks tweet.
6I was driving alone once in a rural area. I got pulled over and there were no lights. I put on my hazards to let the cop know I was aware of him, and then called 911 and asked to be connected to the local police station. I then told them I was aware I was being pulled over but would not stop until I got to a populated lit area. They said that was fine and alerted the officer. It took me driving about 1/2 hour before I got to an area I felt comfortable stopping at. He was not upset at all once I pulled over. He told me I did the smart thing, and said he wished more women did what I did that night.
Also, in some states you can dial #77 and it will connect you to the local police station. You can inform them there is a cop pulling you over and you will stop when you are in a lit area.
Absolute power, corrupts absolutely.
7Oh and the cop car was a marked car, but I was alone and did not want to stop by myself with no one around. I don't care if you are a cop or not. They can still hurt you.
Absolute power, corrupts absolutely.
8That was so smart of you, Cine! I hope I have that same presence of mind if the situation ever arises.
9Tiff I travel alone ALL the time. I carry weapons and am very careful where I stop, where I leave my car, who is parked next to me, etc. but I am very paranoid, I think i am too cautious.
Absolute power, corrupts absolutely.
10That was incredibly smart Cine. And I'm sure that that cop was more than happy to accommodate you. They hate having to find missing women.
11What was the reason he gave for puling you over? If I was that cop, I think I would have given you a pass on your ticket for using your brains.
12It was a speeding ticket. He did not let me off, but he did lower the speed I was going over to give me break on the ticket, or I would have gotten reckless driving. I was driving very fast.
Absolute power, corrupts absolutely.
13You are a very smart traveller.
I'm shocked that he still gave you a ticket!
14To be honest tiff, so was I.
Absolute power, corrupts absolutely.
15Cine, that's exactly what I was going to say to do.
Ladies, police know that there are dangerous people out there and they actually hope you WILL protect yourself and help make their jobs easier. As long as you call 911, you will be ok, and if you do that and happen to get that one a-hole cop who gives you s**t for not stopping, call 911 again and tell them you are being harassed by the cop that just pulled you over, that documents it, and then that and your first call will be recorded and you will be safe.

16If you always do as you've always done, you'll always get what you've always gotten.
Great advice Myk.
17I'm really glad you posted this GS. This and everyone's comments have made me so much more aware of what I should be doing.
18Thanks Tiff. I just think all women should know that crap like this goes on.
19And men too. Robbery could be a motive as well.
20YEah, that's true GS, don't want to be discriminatory. LOL But seriously, Men are victims of this too.

21If you always do as you've always done, you'll always get what you've always gotten.
UUH OH!
22Good tips girls!
Mykie you're absolutely right. I used to give sexual assault seminars. Men are victims of this sort of thing more often then you would think.
23I've always heard that as long as you acknowledge the officer by waving your hand in the rearview and turning on your inside light, you can wait until you at an area you are comfortable stopping. That way they know you're not just trying to avoid them, but calling the police station idea is perfect. If they are legit officers, they're not going to care if they have to drive a little farther to give you the citation.
24Is it all right for me to pull over if it a cute female officer? Oh, and would I be out of place if I demanded she "pat me down"?
25That's so scary. Another reason I don't travel alone. I also wouldn't stop anywhere other than a gas station or place where others are. I don't know anything about Texas but here in SC the police tell you Not to stop unless you know there's just cause and encourage you to call *HP (highway patrol) if there isn't.
26What a horrible story, but like GS said it could have been a lot worse. It's still really awful.
cine, you handled the situation perfectly. I'm just glad you had cell phone reception in a rural area. I heard the same thing...about calling 911, even if the car is marked or unmarked.
Grandpa, I agree..I would have given her a pass, too.
27Kick him in the nuts.
In all seriousness, this is truly awful and terrifying.
28Grandpa, are you Dave's dad?
29
30I think I just busted something laughing so hard.
31
I don't think so
32I sense uncertainty. I'm going to have to demand DNA testing.
33I second.
34We can send them to Maury Povich or whoever it is who does that stuff on TV.
35
OMG, after all these years
36lol, You need to meet your Pervy bouncing baby boy!
37Yeah, when are you free for a TV appearance? I'm emailing the producers right now. This could make you famous!
38Jude and I have to go too. And we will get in a weird fight where they don't actually hit each other just grab each other's hair.
39We'll do a lot of shouting and brawl around the stage, breaking a lot of furniture without ever actually making contact with each other.
Or I'll just sit on GS with my A of D, and that will be the end of the episode.
40
Yeah. That always was a key factor in my knowing they were fake. Some of these women could
have killed each other if they were fighting for real over some of these issues supposedly at hand. Then in college I had a group of friends who went on Springer with a completely bogus
story.
41SERIOUSLY??? Do tell!
42You ladies are a hoot.
43We don't get out much!
44It was some of the great big corps guys. They came up with a story about one of them being a cross dresser and having a crush on the other or something like that. It was crazy.
45Did they get anything out of it besides being on TV? Or was it just for the amusement of going through with it?
Also, is that on YouTube?
46Grandpa, you ain't seen nothin' yet.
47I didn't even think to look on youtube. I really don't even remember the guys names, they were friends of friends type of thing. I guess search cross dressing crush? lol. Bet you'll get some interesting results!
48oh, it was kind of like the movie. They got a trip out there, that's about it.
49You two
