History Unfolding
By Pat Dollard (http://www.tcunation.com/)
I am a student of history. Professionally, I have written 15 books in six languages, and have studied it all my life. I think there is something monumentally large afoot, and I do not believe it is just a banking crisis, or a mortgage crisis, or a credit crisis. Yes these exist, but they are merely single facets on a very large gemstone that is only now coming into a sharper focus.
Something of historic proportions is happening. I can sense it because I know how it feels, smells, what it looks like, and how people react to it. Yes, a perfect storm may be brewing, but there is something happening within our country that has been evolving for about ten to fifteen years. The pace has dramatically quickened in the past two.
We demand and then codify into law the requirement that our banks make massive loans to people we know they can never pay back? Why?
We learn just days ago that the Federal Reserve, which has little or no real oversight by anyone, has "loaned" two trillion dollars (that is $2,000,000,000,000) over the past few months, but will not tell us to whom or why or disclose the terms. That is our money. Yours and mine. And that is three times the $700B we all argued about so strenuously just this past September. Who has this money? Why do they have it? Why are the terms unavailable to us? Who asked for it? Who authorized it? I thought this was a government of "we the people," who loaned our powers to our elected leaders. Apparently not.
We have spent two or more decades intentionally de-industrializing our economy. Why?
We have intentionally dumbed down our schools, ignored our history, and no longer teach our founding documents, why we are exceptional, and why we are worth preserving. Students by and large cannot write, think critically, read, or articulate. Parents are not revolting, teachers are not picketing, school boards continue to back mediocrity. Why?
We have now established the precedent of protesting every close election (now violently in California over a proposition that is so controversial that it wants marriage to remain between one man and one woman. Did you ever think such a thing possible just a decade ago?) We have corrupted our sacred political process by allowing unelected judges to write laws that radically change our way of life, and then mainstream Marxist groups like ACORN and others to turn our voting system into a banana republic. To what purpose?
Now our mortgage industry is collapsing, housing prices are in free fall, major industries are failing, our banking system is on the verge of collapse, social security is nearly bankrupt, as is medicare and our entire government, our education system is worse than a joke (I teach college and know precisely what I am talking about) - the list isstaggering in its length, breadth, and depth. It is potentially 1929 x ten. And we are at war with an enemy we cannot name for fear of offending people of the same religion, who cannot wait to slit the throats of your children if they have the opportunity to do so.
And now we have elected a man no one knows anything about, who has never run so much as a Dairy Queen, let alone a town as big as Wasilla , Alaska . All of his associations and alliances are with real radicals in their chosen fields of employment, and everything we learn about him, drip by drip, is unsettling if not downright scary (Surely you have heard him speak about his idea to create and fund a mandatory civilian defense force stronger than our military for use inside our borders? No? Oh of course. The media would never play that for you over and over and then demand he answer it. Sarah Palin's pregnant daughter and $150,000 wardrobe is more important.)
Mr. Obama's winning platform can be boiled down to one word: Change.
Why?
I have never been so afraid for my country and for my children as I am now.
This man campaigned on bringing people together, something he has never, ever done in his professional life. In my assessment, Obama will divide us along philosophical lines, push us apart, and then try to realign the pieces into a new and different power structure. Change is indeed coming. And when it comes, you will never see the same nation again.
And that is only the beginning.
And I thought I would never be able to experience what the ordinary, moral German felt in the mid-1930s. In those times, the savior was a former smooth-talking rabble-rouser from the streets, about whom the average German knew next to nothing. What they did know was that he was associated with groups that shouted, shoved, and pushed around people with whom they disagreed; he edged his way onto the political stage through great oratory. Conservative "losers" read it right now.
And promises. Economic times were tough, people were losing jobs, and he was a great speaker. And he smiled and waved a lot. And people, even newspapers, were afraid to speak out for fear that his "brown shirts" would bully them into submission. And then, he was duly elected to office, a full-throttled economic crisis at hand [the Great Depression]. Slowly but surely he seized the controls of government power, department by department, person by person, bureaucracy by bureaucracy. The kids joined a Youth Movement in his name, where they were taught what to think. How did he get the people on his side? He did it promising jobs to the jobless, money to the moneyless, and goodies for the military-industrial complex. He did it by indoctrinating the children, advocating gun control, health care for all, better wages, better jobs, and promising to re-instill pride once again in the country, across Europe , and across the world. He did it with a compliant media-did you know that? And he did this all in the name of justice and . . . change. And the people surely got what they voted for.
(Look it up if you think I am exaggerating.)
Read your history books. Many people objected in 1933 and were shouted down, called names, laughed at, and made fun of. When Winston Churchill pointed out the obvious in the late 1930s while seated in the House of Lords in England (he was not yet Prime Minister), he was booed into his seat and called a crazy troublemaker. He was right, though.
Don't forget that Germany was the most educated, cultured country in Europe . It was full of music, art, museums, hospitals, laboratories, and universities. And in less than six years-a shorter time span than just two terms of the U. S. presidency-it was rounding up its own citizens, killing others, abrogating its laws, turning children against parents, and neighbors against neighbors. All with the best of intentions, of course. The road to Hell is paved with them.
As a practical thinker, one not overly prone to emotional decisions, I have a choice: I can either believe what the objective pieces of evidence tell me (even if they make me cringe with disgust); I can believe what history is shouting to me from across the chasm of seven decades; or I can hope I am wrong by closing my eyes, having another latte, and ignoring what is transpiring around me.
Some people scoff at me, others laugh, or think I am foolish, naive, or both. Perhaps I am. But I have never been afraid to look people in the eye and tell them exactly what I believe-and why I believe it. I pray I am wrong. I do not think I am.

1Very well said!
I almost didn't post this because it's more bad news (I'm getting so tired of bad news, and it's only been about a month and a half!!), but he was so articulate, I had to. Sigh.

Ok, I know I'm about to sound like a seriously crazy person. But, I truely am terrified myself. I think the media, hollywood, our school system (I realize there are a few in each of those who doesn't subscribe to the liberal views), has an agenda to steer us toward the left. I can't watch a movie that doesn't have some subliminal anti gun, Bush, war, or some other republican view. MSNBC is by far the farthest left "news". Why do we even call them news? The should be called "The Left Report."

Ladies, can you point to one thing in that article that you have not heard me (rant, preach, point out)about? Those words in parenthesis is for you to pick the one you think most applies to my postings. You know, in Germany at that time, Those of education and culture, thought that Germany was way to sophisticated to fall for the claptrap of that (clown, lunatic, cheap politician hustling votes from the ignorant.) By the time they woke up they were under the thumb of a tyrant, with block watchers reporting anti social behavior or inciting against Hitler. He never had majority support. Who are going to be the "Jews" of America? What nasty self centered group that caused all this mess? Don't worry, the messiah will lead the way.

"Who are going to be the "Jews" of America?" the Jews of course. Obama is sending a delegation to the Durban II conference. It will be those who speak out loudly that can prevent the downfall of the democracy. It will also be our society that is so bent on suing everything and everyone. The courts will begin to see cases against the government within 6 months. The press will begin to balk at being blocked and the liberals will eventually run out of money for kool-aid.

I think we have to keep posting things like this- the "bad news." If we become numb, that's what he wants. We have to read about this stuff, talk about it, and do something about it.
16I think the Jews would be a mistake to pick on this go round. This time they know what's ahead if they do not fight and win. This time they have the wherewithal, to strike back, or even strike first if threatened bad enough. WWII took the fanatacism out the gene pool of the Japanese and the Germans, and the exact opposite amongst the Jewish people.
17I had rethought of my comment and decided it would be bad form (I'm not sure of the word I want to use, wrong? bad? rude?) to make the comparison. I don't think anyone meant it as a comparison or even a slight. Anyway, I agree it's a bad choice. However, I'm sure unintended bad manners.

19Grandpa as long as Obama wants to brown nose the muslim community the Jews will be the scapegoat. The pope re installs a holocaust denier, Obama agrees to send a coalition to an anti-American, anti-Semitic conference. Attacks on Jews, Jewish institutions and houses of worship are up dramatically. The head of a nation literally incite an attack on a synagogue. The MSM sides with Hamas, Hezbollah and Homicidal bombers. And to make it all that much worse the economy is in the toilet. The only difference is this time we will not accept the long walk or that work will set us free, we will fight back and kick ass.

Ever since I heard Obama's speech about "a well funded civilian army" I have wondered why the media refused to question him about that statement until they got an answer. It makes me shudder to think what it means and I think every one of us should be very concerned.
I think we should write our Senators and demand an explanation and it's high time we get it out in the open.
I am completely shocked it has been ignored. Obama said it. What on earth is the man referring to?

Want to know what is funny. I remember recently hearing on here about of the bills had funding for such a thing, right?
25Other than that I NEVER heard about a "well funded civilian army" I put those exact words on a google news search, and NOTHING showed up. Nothing!!!! How can it be words from Obama's mouth and no news articles on it. I am shocked. And saddened.
skb, agree- something that consequential is said by a candidate for the Presidency of the United States and NOT one question, not a bit of concern other than of course from our talk radio (thank GOD for them) and FOX. and even then, that particular subject hasn't been addressed lately that I've noticed - but again, there's so much s*** hitting the fan, every one's heads are spinning!

26Neither Borders nor Amazon lists any book authored by Pat Dollard - and he's not really a historian:
"By Peter Carlson
Washington Post Staff Writer
Tuesday, March 6, 2007; C08
After his fourth wife left him because she got upset about his hobbies, which included cocaine and hookers, Hollywood agent/producer Pat Dollard decided to get his head together by flying to Iraq to hang out with Marines and fight insurgents and film a pro-war documentary that would make him "the Michael Moore of the right."
A few weeks later, he sent his Hollywood pals a photo of himself with a Mohawk haircut, a machine gun and the word DIE shaved into his chest hair. After that, things started to get weird.
Dollard, 42, admits all this stuff -- and much, much more! -- in a wonderfully bizarre profile in the March issue of Vanity Fair. It's the strange story, writes author Evan Wright, of how "a confessed wh*re-loving, alcoholic, coked-out Hollywood agent" became "the great hope of conservative America."
"Pat Dollard is the only person I know in Hollywood who's crazier than me," says actor Billy Bob Thornton, who was one of his clients back when Dollard was an Armani-wearing agent. He had a unique business style: He'd treat colleagues and prospective clients to what he calls "non-wedding-connected bachelor parties with drugs and hookers."
The booze and dope fueled many crazy antics, and in the spring of 2004, cops handcuffed Dollard and carted him off to the psych unit of an L.A. hospital.
"Around this time he began his political conversion," Wright notes. "Somewhere between the Roman orgy and the mental ward he became a staunch supporter of George W. Bush's."
He showed his support for the war in Iraq by accessorizing his Hummer with a vanity plate that read US WINS. Then, after another epic binge of cocaine and call girls, he went to Iraq to shoot a documentary.
27Steph, its an opinion and if you are entitled to have one so is he.

30"If by the mere force of numbers a majority should deprive a minority of any clearly written constitutional right, it might, in a moral point of view, justify revolution." Abraham Lincoln, First Inaugural Address, 4 March 1861
Sure Pam:
You can take one line out of a speech and freak out, or you can read the line in context and understand what the speaker actually meant – this is from Obama’s July 4, 2008 speech:
“Just as we must value and encourage military service across our society, we must honor and expand other opportunities to serve. Because the future of our nation depends on the soldier at Fort Carson, but it also depends on the teacher in East LA, the nurse in Appalachia, the after-school worker in New Orleans, the Peace Corps volunteer in Africa, and the Foreign Service officer in Indonesia.”
“Renewing that spirit starts with service. Make no mistake: our destiny as Americans is tied up with one another. If we are less respected in the world, then you will be less safe.”
“We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.”
So - in context – what Obama says it is important from Americans to help the U.S. and the world in non-military ways, ways that for the US will result in better national security.
Obama did not, and is not, calling for a private, civilian military to do his bidding. Remember, online videos don't offer context.

35"The March, 2007 edition of Vanity Fair includes a profile of Dollard by pornographer-turned-journalist Evan Wright which has generated controversy."
Steph, you're putting a lot of stock in an article written by this gentleman?? Dollard himself dismisses the Vanity Fair article as a cartoonish profile with a leftist agenda. And here is some more about Evan Wright: "He has strong support in this charge of left wing political bias against Vanity Fair from an unlikely place, the New York Times. In a March 5, 2007 story[3] about Vanity Fair's publisher Graydon Carter, the Times said of him, "Mr. Carter has used his magazine to political, even partisan ends, including the second impending “green” issue and a relentless drumbeat against the current administration." Given that Dollard is a strong proponent of both the Bush administration and the Iraq war, it is reasonable to suggest that Carter's hereby publicly noted propaganda interests[4] influenced his magazine's portrait of Dollard negatively. It is also not the first time that Evan Wright's credibility as a journalist has come into sharp question from eyewitnesses to events he has written about."
In addition, "After his fourth wife left him because she got upset about his hobbies, which included cocaine and hookers," = smear tactics.

Steph, I'll have to go with Harts on this one. Obama refers to a “civilian national security force” — which sounds much more like a quasi-military organization operating within the US under the control of the federal government.
Obama needs to clarify this organization that he wants to FUND--a Civilian National Security Force? This sounds exactly like the KGB. Plus with this statement coming from a man who hangs out with radicals like William Ayers, I am very concerned and we all should be!!!
and cc, I completely agree with your comments about Dollard. Sounds like a smear job by the usual suspects. Dollard really nailed the left and Obama's agenda in this article!
The usual answer from the left is "attack the messenger"
37Pam, it's just par for the course. And I find it amusing that she said, "You can take one line out of a speech and freak out, or you can read the line in context and understand what the speaker actually meant," when several of them do that constantly to me.

41Grandpa, Can we actually TRUST Mr. Obama & his Administration of powerful, money grabbing, non-tax paying associates & the unprecedented role of our Federal Government. I did some digging and it sounds like they've started the wheels on this civilian national security force...
Re: A "civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded [as the military]"
Defense Department Announces Civilian Expeditionary Workforce
Steve Watson
excerpts:
"The comments that were ignored by the vast majority of the corporate media but were found to be troubling by some independent journalists who compared the idea to the formation of the Nazi Hitler Youth.
Fears of "youth brigades" or civilian stasi style units increased following Obama’s appointment of Rahm Emanuel to chief-of staff.
In his book, "The Plan: Big Ideas for America," Emanuel writes: "It’s time for a real Patriot Act that brings out the patriot in all of us. We propose universal civilian service for every young American. Under this plan, all Americans between the ages of 18 and 25 will be asked to serve their country by going through three months of basic training, civil defense preparation and community service."
The book also notes, "Some Republicans will squeal about individual freedom, ruling out any likelihood that they would let people opt out of universal citizen service."
Emanuel is also an enthusiastic supporter of the United States Public Service Academy Act, a lobbying group founded in 2006 in order to promote the foundation of an American public service academy modeled on the military academies - a youth corps whose students would be trained in "civilian internship in the armed forces".
Furthermore, in a rediscovered 2006 audio clip of an interview with Ben Smith of the New York Daily News, Emanuel outlined the agenda for compulsory military-style training, essentially a domestic draft, aimed at preparing Americans for a chemical or biological terrorist attack.
When controversy arose over the program last November, the use of the word "required" to describe the program was removed from Obama’s change.gov website and replaced with "community service" type terminology."
Conclusion: The formation of this "army" is from the same group (Pelosi, Dodd, Reid, Frank, Emmanuel, Holder...etc etc) who want to shut down our voices (Fairness Doctrine), open our borders, close Guantemano and so on...
42I may be wrong, have been before, but I still contend that what is being talked about is more along the lines of Americorp.

46attention = intention, clearly multi tasking is not my forte
47Steph? What the hell? Here's some more on Wright:
"n the 90's Evan Wright was the chief pornographic film reviewer for Hustler magazine,[14] and wrote the imagined, first person sexual fantasies of underage girls in "Hustler's" Barely Legal series.[15] Slate magazine, also reported that Dollard has disputed the allegations and considers the Vanity Fair article inaccurate and exaggerated."
Is this all you can come up with, asking if we have found 15 books online? Get a grip, girl! I just totally submarined your first comment on this. Move on and come up with something a little more definitive.
