billy ray! woo, maybe we'll get all the miley fans?!
1Kid Rock and Bruce Willis?
2I was really surprised about most of them, oh and I don't see Adam Sandler on the list, but he is also one, unless I can't see him name .
3Angelina Jolies daddy is a republican ..
4Larry the Cable Guy? LOL
5Do we really have to claim Don King?
Isn't it funny how you don't see any of these folks out making statements for McCain? I wish the dem celebrities would follow their lead.
6Adam Sandler is one? That is shocking!
Absolute power, corrupts absolutely.
7Also Dennis Miller and Norm MacDonald...
8Scott Baio and Rob Schneider?!
Oh, and THE ROCK!?
Interesting.
9nooot surprised by Larry the Cable Guy.
Isn't Angelina pretty moderate at least? I know she'd never say one way or the other.
10My favorite- Ben Stein
11I was surprised by a lot of those! LOL at Shannen Doherty.
12Ben Stein rocks!
Love me some Dean Cain
Shannon Doherty kinda suprises me.
Love this list!
13None of these surprise me with the exception of Nick Lachey.
14I thought it was going to be a blank document.
Lachey doesn't surprise me too much because he is from Cincinnati and that is a Republican stronghold in Ohio. (I mean, that's not the only reason, but it's part of the reason.)
15I met Jon Secada once. It was back in the day when "If you Go" was really popular. I sometimes tell people I met him and most people (with the exception of my Hispanic friends) don't even know who he is.
16Emma Caulfield did endorse Ron Paul but now that he's out of the race, she's endorsing Obama. Don't ask me how I know that. I have an unhealthy amount of knowledge when it comes to the cast of Buffy.
17I'm pretty sure she's still a registered Republican, though. But I could be wrong.
18I love Ben Stein!
Absolute power, corrupts absolutely.
19I love Ben Stein too and now I love THE ROCK even more!!!!!
20You are such a dork, Whip.
21Think how tough it is has to be for these stars. Lordy, every awards program they go to they have to listen to some joke about how incompetent the current President is. It would suck.
22Chuck Norris has a new book out, Black Belt Patriotism.
Our local Barnes & Noble is actually relatively objective with how they display their books, this one was on a table near the door but not prominently displayed.
I had to fix that.
Was also at Borders last night.
23Covered a couple of Arianna Huffington's latest.

How do you tell a communist? Well, it's someone who reads Marx and Lenin.
And how do you tell an anti-Communist? It's someone who understands Marx and Lenin.

LoL, Laine!
I have seen him promoting his book, and it looks really interesting.
25Oops!
26I meant to say, most of these don't surprise me a lot, except Shannon Doherty and especially Chaka Khan.

"Emma Caulfield did endorse Ron Paul but now that he's out of the race, she's endorsing Obama."
This blows my mind. How could you go from Ron Paul to Obama? The two men are polar opposites. I met so many people (college students mostly) who said they were deciding between the two during the primaries and it always confused me.
27Mich I have heard the same thing. I mean talk about polar opposites! I think those people vote on what is cool rather then policy.

28Lain you crack me up!

29Mich, that reminds me of a person who told me the other day that she is a Libertarian, but is a big Obama supporter. That confuses me as well.
30Tiff did you do this
and then immediately do this
? I wish we had a emoticon that was beating a brick wall.
Absolute power, corrupts absolutely.
31The Rock is so hot and now just hotter!
I remember Jessica Simpson saying in an interview once that Nick is more liberal than her, so that one I think is bogus.
However, I am convinced there are Fight Club type meetings of Hollywood Conservatives.... The first rule of Hollywood Conservatives Club is you do not talk about Hollywood Conservatives Club...
32I just had to stop talking to her at that point. Seriously, my blood pressure is probably at dangerously high levels due to this election.
33Well, Arnold may be a Republican, but he is a pretty liberal one, so he might not count. Charlton Heston is dead, so technically we have to take him off the list.
I always knew about Shannen Doherty and think that's why no one in Hollywood likes her.
34You can add GAry Sinise to the list, too!
"However, I am convinced there are Fight Club type meetings of Hollywood Conservatives.... The first rule of Hollywood Conservatives Club is you do not talk about Hollywood Conservatives Club..."
You're probably more accurate than you think. I've heard interviews with a couple of actors in which they said being a conservative would affect their "employability".
Here's an article on the issue:

Haus they totally have to have secret conservative groups, otherwise they won't have jobs if they were out spoken! And isn't sarah michelle gellar a Republican?

36I can say from working in the entertainment business that it is true. I have to keep my political philosophies to myself.
Absolute power, corrupts absolutely.
37Yes! Buffy!
Tiff, the term "libertarian" is so trendy, and so misunderstood. I heard one kid say "I'm a libertarian, so I think there should be absolutely no regulation in abortion". As if libertarians wouldn't recognize an unborn baby's rights!
38Libertarians are not anarchists. I agree mich, the term libertarian is very trendy right now, yet most people have no clue what they believe.
Absolute power, corrupts absolutely.
39Mich, that's part of what this girl said!! She said, "I'm a raging Libertarian...blah, blah, blah...I want people's religion FAR FAR away from my government, and I don't want anyone telling me what to do with MY body."
40I think a true libertarian wouldn't want anybody telling them what to do with their body, but most would be smart enough to realize that a fetus has it's own body, and it's own rights.
They might not all agree on how far along a fetus has to be before it obtains those rights, though.
41I think A LOT of people who supported Paul and now support Obama are single-issue voters, as well, with that issue being the Iraq war.
Not all, of course, but a lot.
42Lil, that's probably true. I think a lot of college kids also liked Ron Paul because he was pro-legalization. I'm all for it, but there's no way I'd base my vote on something like that.
43I understand the Libertarian view (although I disagree), but I do not fully understand the staunch Republican point of view. Republican views seem to stem from ignorance and an addiction to tradition, despite how lost some of these traditions are.
Why should you be concerned about gay marriage? Give the church the right to the refusal of marriage to anyone for any reason, but also allow the state give the same rights to everyone.
Also, if you're so concerned about the sanctity of marriage, try outlawing divorce first... or maybe drive-thru weddings in Las Vegas.
Liberals always seem to have the bad rap for wanting a "nanny state", but Republicans are just as guilty. The conservative government tells us what we can/can't do with our bodies (ie. drugs). They're concerned with sex, homosexuality, etc. in TV, film, etc., and instead of urging parents to talk with their children and holding them accountable, they want to ban it entirely.
44Wow. Talk about a blast from the past.
Mac, don't confuse the conservative philosophy with the religious right. The Conservatives want limited government, with a focus on defense from enemies within, and without. The government shouldn't be in the business of allowing, or denying anything that is considered religious. Liberals get a rap for wanting a nanny state because of all their programs that are "for the good of the country".
45Shoot, hit the button too soon.
"for the good of the country", but are just governmental versions of Robin Hood, taxing the rich to give to the poor.
46...And what is wrong with that? Until the system changes where people are actually rewarded for hard work and not circumstance, it levels the playing field.
I do think welfare, etc. needs to be reformed (Stricter restrictions should be implemented. Government should only provide programs for basic needs and not just give out a welfare check to spend on whatever. It also needs to be readily available for people that really need it.)... but it should be readily available for the
disenfranchised.
Concerning the comments about the conservative philosophy, notice that I said "staunch Republican" (emphasis on "staunch"). I actually understand and have once identified with Libertarians and the less extreme right wing.
47I think Conservatives stand by traditions that work and not the ones that failed. Whereas a Conservative thinks change should be evolutionary not revolutionary, the liberal sees change as a chance to pat themselves on the back for being "progressive." There doesn't seem to be much thought as to the consequence of making all these "good for the country" changes.
And how are people not rewarded for hard work right now? Seems to me Oprah worked her tail off to become the most influential woman in the world. Wasn't she poor? But she was always curious and eager to learn and a hard worker. Was she just a lucky woman or is it more like she says of preparation meeting opportunity?
48My brother-in-law had to work in the family business to put food on the table at 8yrs old. He is now a director for IBM making 6 figures, and I'm betting the first number isn't a 1 or 2. Was he just lucky, or born to the right family?
49Excellent points Bredelwoman. I love the phrase, "preparation meeting opportunity". Thoughts like that actually give us control over our lives! Novel, novel thought!
