How much to do you believe Unions are playing in our economic problems?
John Stossel on FOX news said he feels for every one person they help, it hurts three others.
Some people think that the "prevailing wage" which Unions demand has undermined their effectiveness in an ability to provide a product at a reasonable price.

I read this article by the AP in my Sunday paper last week but didn't get around to posting it.
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/feb/10/time-to-end-black-histor...
Basically, since we now have a black President and it's clear that race has come a long way in this country, is Black History month still necessary?

**PUBLIC POST**
Tomorrow morning House Republicans will vote on whether they want to keep John Boehner as their leader or elect Dan Lungren minority leader. Whom do you think they should choose? I generally like and agree with Boehner and, from everything I have heard, he is a hard worker who doesn't quit until the job is done and is willing to reach across the aisle to get things accomplished.

Obama is going to cancel Hannity 's and Rush Limbaugh's radio talk shows, because they disagree with the Democratic party.
He is seeking to take away Free Speech over the Radio Waves.
Are you surprised?

I thought it might be nice to debate something else.
The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel is running a 5 part series on drunk driving in Wisconsin. Part two talks about drunk driving laws in the state.

You could be republican if you believe :
Saddam was a good guy when Reagan armed him, a bad guy when Bush's daddy made war on him, a good guy when Cheney did business with him and a bad guy when Bush needed a "we can't find Bin Laden" diversion.
Trade with Cuba is wrong because the country is communist, but trade with China and Vietnam is vital to a spirit of international harmony.

The latest NEWSWEEK Poll shows Barack Obama leading John McCain by only 3 points. What a difference a few weeks can make.
"A month after emerging victorious from the bruising Democratic nominating contest, some of Barack Obama's glow may be fading.

I know, I know, it's not easy to choose one issue. Personally, I don't believe in being a single-issue voter, I think it's too simplistic. However, since we're a far-flung group, I thought it might be interesting and enlightening to compare priorities.

Tonight he and his family are going onto Access Hollywood and have done an article for US Weekly as well. Does this celebrity type of hype and campaigning make you question his intentions or credibility?
Yes, is he running for president or rockstar?

Here is another one of those insane petition emails I get. They all irk me to no end with their oversimplifying and total omition of facts, but this one outraged me.
"Tell the FDA: Don't Put Human Genes in Goats for Drug Development
I was horrified to read an article on Salon.com last week that described the practice of putting human genes into goats so that pharmaceutical companies can make money from these transgenic animals.

I read this story: http://www.marinecorpstimes.com/news/2008/06/marine_swim_061208w/
Essentially, a new recruiting ad shows a young black man who can't swim on the edge of a diving board talking about the motivation he got from his Drill Instructor, and then he jumps in, can swim and comes up a Marine where he's whisked away by fellas in one of those inflatable motorboat type things.
You can view the ad here: http://www.militarytimes.com/multimedia/video/061208mc_marine_video_leap...
"The popular blog Gawker.com, however, derided the ad as “subtle stereotyping.”
“The Marines send a simple, straightforward message: ‘Hey, black people.

No one's spouse is perfect (except my husband's!). At this point in the campaign, all of them have done something that might be considered questionable. Who do you think is the biggest anchor on the candidacy, and possibly the ship of state?

So I know regardless of what your feelings/opinions are about the rebate check, I doubt anyone of us would take the check, rip it apart and throw it in the trash. I read that some people are already getting their checks today deposited in their bank accounts.
So I want to know, have you got your check yet?

The BBC is facing accusations of rewriting the Easter story by claiming Christ was nailed to the cross in a foetal position.
